The Rentables Questions and AnswersFinding a rentalHow do I search for apartments?
Enter the location (address, city, state, zip code) in the search field and press "Go".
How are the listings organized?
Listed results are organized by geo-location. Top results are the ones closest to the address/location that you enter into the search box.
How do I use Google maps to explore my results?
Once your results are shown, you can drag the map around, and listings will reflect properties available in the visible area. You can zoom in or zoom out to change the size of the area covered. Each property is marked by an indicator which you can click on to see additional details. When you place your cursor over the mark, you will see a brief listing description at the top of the map. Some of the buildings have more than one unit, in which case, all the available units will be displayed.
How do I use filters to narrow my results?
You will see a number of filters to the left of the map. Each filter contains the number of units that currently match that criteria. Note that the filters are only relevant to the units that are visible on the map. If you move the map around, the number of units and available filters will automatically adjust to the new viewing area.
Click on a filter to narrow the results (both in the list and on the map) to only those properties that fit the criteria. You can use several filters at once, which allows you to be more specific in your search. Only units that fit all the filters will be left on the map. If there are no units that fit a particular filter, that filter will not be displayed on the left. Applied filters are listed under "Your search criteria" below the map. Here you can cancel any filter individually by clicking the [x] beside the filter, or reset them all by clicking clear all filters to bring you back to your original results. How do I use the price range slider?
Although it looks complex, the price range slider is very easy to use. Drag the two endpoints at the bottom to change your selected price range. The height of the vertical bars represents the number of units at each price range. Once you've selected a certain price range, it will appear as a search filter in the Search Criteria. Clear the price filter and start over by canceling the in "your search criteria" under the map, or on the price slider to the side of the listings.

I contacted a landlord and the unit wasn't available even though it was listed on The Rentables. What can I do?
We are dedicated to displaying only quality listings with accurate availability status.
The Rentables has a flagging system which you can use to report abusive, misleading, or unavailable listings.
Once you flag a unit, we review the listing and contact the landlord and try to resolve misunderstandings where necessary.
Flagging by multiple users will result in a listing's removal from the site.
